Your Generals may give you orders to shoot, kill, or maim innocent citizens who may express themselves in manners that have been identified by your superiors as punishable even tho they're lawful, but you must remember that you were human first before you ever adorned khaki & a pair of boots, thus, you must make sure that you do the right thing amidst malicious orders.
You owe it to yourself, you owe it to humanity, you owe it to your country, you owe it to the family of the man whose life is in your hands to take or spare, you owe it to your family, but most importantly, you owe it to God.
Your spouses and kids are civilians, for every person you shoot at, you shoot at your family, for every voice you suppress, you suppress the voice of your family, for every person you kill, you kill your family.
This is because like ordinary Nigerians, they are one of us, your kids will go to the same schools others go to, they'd enjoy and suffer whatever benefits or disaster that the government decides to unleash, so don't think you are exempted from this rascality because it will catch up with you in one way or the other.
Allow citizens exercise their rights in full, a democracy should allow democratic tenets, not otherwise.
