urkey will “take control” of security on the border with Iraq in the summer and “complete the unfinished work in Syria,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
The Hürriyet newspaper reported on March 7 that the Turkish armed forces expect to conduct a large-scale ground military operation in northern Iraq against militants of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and an agreement has been reached with the administration in Baghdad.
"We will take control of our border security with Iraq this summer. We will also complete the unfinished work in Syria," he told the military.
